well, you said to stop being so obvious about it, so. i figured i'd try what i do best.

It was a good direction to take.
Not obvious, played to your strengths, to my knowledge hasn't been done and because no one else has done it gained some information.

i'm almost leaning towards him being a psychic of some type. or having a telepath on his team. i was skipping across the minds of the people who live here. not us. the actual people. but once i got to his mansion, it was just a mental void of nothing. i figured it was a trick or a shield so i pushed harder and that's when things got weird. there were images but they were spinning way too fast for me to see and anytime i tried to grab one, it hurt more until i couldn't take it anymore.

That would certainly be a possibility - and a pretty good one for that information. There may be some other explanations about the nature of what he is, or maybe even where he is - but some kind of psychic fits all of them to some degree.

It might also explain the... pervasiveness of the officials knowing what's going on, and sometimes what's planned but hasn't actually happened.

i don't know where i was. whether it was his mind, the edge of it, or some other place entirely. i haven't experienced anything like that before. it could have been a trap for all i know.

but if they don't have some sort of psychic batting for them, i'd be surprised.

They've definitely dampened - and capped - powers, just based on Jean and Phoenix. Nevermind their ability to turn them off entirely.

I don't think that's inaccurate. Most people who have incredible amount of power - and they've dragged other really powerful people here - actually are.

Regardless, while he is still very controlled and compartmentalized - he's used telepathy for straight team communication and practicailities as much as intimacy and affection - never mind positive and negative experiences.

One of two ways. First way and the one I'm hoping will work: people go in there. I could see about hijacking one of their minds. See it all through their eyes.

[ That has potential and while 'perk up' is the wrong word, it... has potential and he is interested. Immediately sort of narrows his eyes and ponders ways both that could be useful, appreciate that it keeps Nate relatively safe - as safe as anyone pushing in Duplicity can be - is again fairly subtle, and he can even think of some possibilities to act as a safety net for Nate.
