( Lifting his head up some, he looks around. He can always make room within it, but. )

I thought you said you couldn't fly.

( Well. That's true. He didn't and doesn't.

Sitting up some in that TK bubble of his, he looks down towards the mansion — lets his mind crawl across the walls and floors of it until he comes to find where she is in it. )

Do you want me to bring you up here?

(It's not like she's doing anything, is it?)

( Sigh leaving his lips, so, too, does the TK bubble around him. Rather than simply fall from the sky, he gently drifts his way back down towards the mansion, the wind cool in the way it touches his cheeks as he goes.

Coming up to her window, and lingers there outside — lifts a hand to open it up and hovers there, arms at his sides. )

(If she weren't at least somewhat put together, she would never really want this, but alas. She doesn't look that tired, considering that she did sleep the day away, hence why she's here awake, talking to him.

Three pieces, a cropped, baggy sweatpants and the cardigan she gets on the way to the window and puts on to fight off the chilly breeze of the night and she sticks her head out.)

How fairytale-y. Shall we?

( It's funny because... he was actually thinking how fairytale-like this seemed. A prince coming to rescue a princess from the castle or something along those lines. Though Sophie hardly strikes him as the type needing saving from here.

Nate's in the same clothes he always has. The darker blue and yellow that mimics his father's colour palette, jacket thrown on over the t-shirt beneath it. Maybe he'll figure out some other clothes while here, but. For the moment, these work and they don't smell, so. )

Don't exactly have a white horse with me, but who needs one when you can fly, right?

( Coming in closer, he holds a hand out for her to take so he can pull her in closer to hold. )

(Okay, that was cute, and the laugh he heard in his brain he can hear directly from her, a hand moving some of her hair away to tuck it behind her ear. It is true, isn't it? This is more interesting than a horse ride, if it's an option. No hesitation there for her, not like he'd actually let her fall, so she takes the offered hand by holding it with her soft ones.)

What, we running off now? Happily ever after?

That a thing for people like us?

( Mutants, he means. Because he can't exactly say he's seen that for any of them thus far.

He pulls her in close — arm gentle in the way it snakes around her waist. He doesn't lift her up as he did the last time all bridal style. Instead, he simply holds her there against him — eyes her for a quick moment before he's lifting them away from the mansion and gently guiding them up into the night sky. It's slow and careful, much like the first time he'd taken her up, blue eyes flicking their gaze to her for a second or two just to make sure she's ok before he's looking up around them. Doesn't want to bonk them into the barrier after all. )

Not in my experience, but can't blame a girl for dreaming, right?

(Ugh, don't remind her. Even the time she was dead was also not great. No peace, even in death!

She doesn't mind the lack of feeling fully like a princess, this is equally if not even more comfortable than the first time he did it. Instead, she can focus on how quiet it is up in here, the chilling of the wind, the flickering of a light or another. Perhaps it is because she can't come up in here herself that it's so alluring. It's also so... Quiet. Of course, she can still hear the ever-lasting chatter of minds, but it's... Just that, herself, and Nate.

Can't go higher?

( Sometimes he needs this. To just... get away from everything and everyone. Up here, he feels almost disconnected from the world below. Sure, he could easily reach his mind out and hear the incessant chatter of the various minds throughout Etraya if he really wanted to, but. When he doesn't, being up here, it's just... quiet and for a telepath? That's a godsend some days, if not most. )

There's a barrier. I'm not sure how, but I can't pierce through it.

( He's already tried, naturally.

Getting them as high as he can — which is still high mind you — a swish of golden yellow gently wraps around them then, encasing them in a very real and softly warm bubble of psionic energy which they stand upon now high up in the sky. Gently, he slips his arm away from her and stands there, showing her that she's not going to fall through it. Not as long as he keeps it up, that is. )

(Just one more nice reminder that they're very much here against their will. Not that there's any doubt in her mind about wanting to save her world, she'd do it in a heartbeat; she died for much less on a comparable scale. It's more the authority of it that bothers her, not to mention how invasive and distressing it is for Sophie to be so far from what makes her... Her. She'd been angry, gone no-contact, and she hasn't spoken to her sisters in a while, but... She could, if she wanted to.

She can't, now. Offensive, targeted, depressing.

A way to show him she trusts him is how she doesn't fret when he lets her go, instead, she stretches her arms before they become her pillows.)

Classic. How do you feel about this place?

( He holds a hand out in case she needs it, but. When it seems she's managed to make herself comfortable, he drops it back to his side and goes about settling down in the bubble himself like before. Legs bent at the knee, head tipped back and pressing against the golden yellow behind him, he flicks his blue-eyed gaze up towards the barrier a ways from them as they drift there. High in the sky. )

Still figuring that out.

( For a number of reasons. Being around so many other mutants again... it's an adjustment. But at least he has up here? )

Mmmm, I don't love it.

(Which is one way to explain why she's been moody, without trauma-dumping on him too much. She knows he's got his own shit, and her own kinda sucks tremendously in a whole new, different way. Better if he gets used to everything first, trauma-dumped by the X-Kids later.)

Kinda glad to get out of that dump of a planet, though. Got pretty rich, it got boring.

( Arms draped across his knees, he looks over to her — recalls their time in the casino together and their meeting one another prior to that. He'd come across a few mutants while on that other planet, all of whom are here now — mostly in the mansion below them which... is strange. An adjustment. Something he's not sure how to feel about just yet. Again, there's a lot he's in the process of trying to figure out. )

Was that your there's more to life than being filthy rich moment?

Sweet, sweet Nate. I'm patently rich. That was fun, raising through the ranks, playing the game, but eventually, it's just more of the same.

(She's confident enough that she moves, resting on her side and letting her hand support her face for a moment.)

You don't know Emma Frost, do you?

( His expression says it all as he looks over to her. No, no he does not know Emma Frost. However, he gives the name another think before he's lifting his gaze up to the sky through the TK bubble. )

Uh... no? Should I?

Eh, probably, maybe. She's my mum — technically, we're clones of her, and she's ridiculously filthy rich, so. Potato, potahto.

(He's gotta have her somewhere in his universe, but it's fine, mum is not the point of this conversation.)

Started out Champion, almost touched Paragon. Now we're here.

( Clones. Huh. He... can't really relate, but. Sort of can at the same time? He was made from Scott and Jean's DNA in Sinister's lab. Wasn't even carried of born. Just... made. Maybe she was, too. It's rude to ask, isn't it?

A glance over to her, those blue eyes of his watch her gently. )

Do you miss her? I mean... you knew her?

(Don't worry, she's 100% made in a lab, too. Not born, just... Grown.

She's gonna leave out of this conversation that Emma and Scott were a thing. Someone else might tell him, or she might, just not right now.

Her own ocean-colored eyes close for a second, a shrug of shoulders ensuing.)

Yep, and so does everyone here. Divisive person, to say the least. The Five-In-One either want to please her or want to be close to her, so we can avoid becoming her. We have our moments, but to miss her? Nope. Why?

( He tips his head back again — breathes out softly as he stares at the way the energy around them slowly and so very gently moves around. Keeping them safe. Keeping them hidden. Away from everything and everyone else. )

I don't know. People miss their parents, don't they?

(There is a reason why she calls him sweet Nate. It's because he's clueless, so clueless it makes him cute.

This is one of those moments.)

A lot of them don't, and for a lot of people, super, hugely touchy subject, dearest. Maybe be a little careful when you ask that. Not to me, I don't care, you can ask pretty much anything, but just in general.

( A glance over to her again, he hums at her words — keeps it in mind — then looks back ahead, fingers curling into his palms a little before stretching out again. )

Guess you're right. I didn't even know I had any until recently. Even then, I don't know them. Not really. Just who they are.

Well, two versions of them are here, so you get some sort of chance. Just don't tell Kid Scott, because he gets super annoying and pissy about anything X-Men or future-him related. Actually, don't call him kid, pretty sure he would hate that too.

(Sophie sees that hand, and she remembers how he offered it to her not too long ago. Maybe he's the one who needs it, so she'll offer hers to him instead.)
